Eve Olson Receives 2017 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award
We are happy to announce that the College of Humanities has selected Eve Olson to receive the 2017 Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award.
Eve Olson is a graduating senior getting her degrees in Honors Linguistics and Middle East Studies. Originally from Colorado, Eve has studied foreign languages her entire life and focused much of her time at the University of Utah on Arabic language studies. In the coming year, she plans to attend graduate school to obtain a Master's degree in Translation Studies. Eve's linguistic research at the University of Utah concerns the phonology and phonetics of the English and Arabic languages. In collaboration with her adviser, Rachel Hayes-Harb, she designed a language-production experiment, ran tests on a number of participants, and will be composing an Honors thesis with her findings.
